As you may have seen we’re fundraising for 500 Qhubeka bikes across our 2019 multi-day events. On Stage 3 of the HotChillee Pyrenees this month, Ride Captain “The Bull” will be climbing the iconic Col du Tourmalet on a 16kg Qhubeka bike as part of our fundraising effort! The Tourmalet is the highest paved mountain pass in the French Pyrenees and the Tour de France’s most frequently used climb! Last year’s TdF Stage 20 was its 86th appearance, and with an average gradient of 7.4% for 19km, maxing out at an eyewatering 13% in some places, it certainly won’t be easy on a single speed!
To win this month’s “Out Ride the Ride Captains” challenge head over to either the HotChillee Facebook or Twitter and guess (to the nearest minute) the time you think it will take for The Bull to climb this 18.49km Tourmalet Strava section on the pinned post. His attempt takes place on Saturday 22 June and the closest guess before Friday 21 June at 17:00 BST wins!
