Thursday 26th May 2016

We're excited to announce that the 2016 edition of the HotChillee London-Paris will see the first ever closed circuit start in the events 13 year history! And it will be supported by Maserati who for the past 100 years has been known for its style, technology and performance.

Join HotChillee riders for the first stage of their 300 mile journey to Paris - starting this year from the Thames Gateway with an early morning 2.5km individual time trial (ITT) around the Cyclopark circuit at Gravesend.

The ITT results will be used towards the Green Sprint Leader's Jersey and finalise rider seeding into event speed groups. Once seeded riders will be given the option to return to the track to compete for the General Classification (GC) Yellow Leader's Jersey in a timed 6-lap race of the circuit. Each speed group will set off individually, with any riders not wanting to race setting off last and being able to use this as an opportunity to pick up some bunch riding tips from the HotChillee Ride Captains.

Riders will then roll through the stunning Kent Countryside on their fully supported journey to Folkestone.

There are plenty of Oast houses and waterways to spot on the 90km of flatlands before Lympne Hill, which, at 1km averaging 10% but peaking at 25%, is a worthy test to decide the red Climbers Jersey. It is then just 5km to finish the day.

If you'd like to join us for Stage 1 of the HotChillee London-Paris you will need to be able to ride in speed groups 1-3 (faster than 27km/hr average for 100km). Parking is available at the Cyclopark for the day and you and your bike will be transported back there from Folkstone, retuning at approximately 4.30pm. Entry will cost £150pp.

The first 10 riders to sign up for Stage 1 Only will also be driven back to the start in one of the Maseratis!
