Give your old cycling kit a good home…
With the HotChillee Cape Rouleur 2020 fast approaching it’s time to launch our kit appeal! Every year we take previously used kit to South Africa, which we donate to young riders living in Cape Town.
This year we’re proud to continue supporting The Buffalo Foundation as the HotChillee Global Charity Partner. The Buffalo Foundation aims to make a lasting difference to those people less fortunate through sport, education and the creation of future entrepreneurs. The primary focus of the foundation is supporting local cycling academies in South Africa, several of which HotChillee has been working with since launching the Cape Rouleur and our Development Rider Programme in 2011 – so we’re thrilled to be supporting them.
You’ll hear more about this partnership over the coming months, but for now we’re asking anyone registered for the ride on 9th February (who isn’t riding the Cape Rouleur!) who’d like to donate any cycling clothing, helmets, shoes, saddles, GPX devices, heart rate monitors etc (you name it we’ll take it!) to please bring it with you. We will take it to South Africa on behalf of The Buffalo Foundation and donate to the cycling academies they work with.
If you are registered for the Cape Rouleur, there will be a collection box at the Event HQ in Franschhoek so please bring your donations out with you.
If you’re not yet registered for the ride this weekend, you can find the details here. Those of you riding the HotChillee Cape Rouleur will have the chance to meet riders from each of the academies while on the event, so you’ll be able to find out firsthand how your donations really do make a difference.
If anyone not attending the ride would like to send donations, you can send them to us at HotChillee c/o 7 Eccleston House, Tulse Hill, Brixton, SW2 2HP before Tuesday 18 February. For more information please contact [email protected]
