HotChillee Alpine Challenge | Fully Supported Cycling Tour - French Alps

HotChillee Alpine Challenge

updated dates coming soon!

“The HotChillee Alpine Challenge is the best thing I’ve ever done on a bike.”
Rob Hoyles, Cycling Plus

Looking for your next mountain challenge? Want to take on some of the iconic climbs of the Tour de France in a fully supported environment? Join us for the HotChillee Alpine Challenge 2020 and an epic 3 day cycling tour of the French Alps.

We know that whilst some of you will be tracking Strava segments not everyone is interested in being the first up the climbs, so we’ll help everyone get there in a fully supported environment and, more importantly, make some new friends along the way. Due to the amount of climbing and descending involved, we have rated this event a 4/5 difficulty.

Places will be limited to 65 entrants. Riders will be timed at an ITT Prologue on the first day and seeded into one of three speed groups for the remainder of the event.

Each speed group will be supported by the HotChillee Ride Captains and followed by a support vehicle and a mechanic. A medic will also be roaming the route in radio contact with the HotChillee Ride Captains who will be on hand to assist with any support, moral boosting or (for some!) a little push here and there. Carefully selected lunches will be arranged each day where you will find one of our professional sports therapists to help you on your way!

At the end of the day you can hand your bike to our mechanics (if there are any issues), otherwise head straight to the therapists before sampling the excellent wines and regional cuisine.

The Alpine Challenge has been running since 2010 and has taken place in the French Alps, the Italian Alps, the Dolomites and the Pyrenees.

E-Bike Entry now open!

Ride your own E-Bike or test ride a Specialized Turbo Creo SL as part of your entry.

Specialized Turbo Creo SL

Over the past few days COVID-19 policy has been updated to include non-essential travel and social distancing, with the peak of infections projected in 12 weeks time.
We have therefore decided not to hold the event in 2020, running it instead at the same time in 2021 (date to be confirmed). Riders have been contacted and offered the option to defer their entry free of charge to 2021, to use their entry as credit on another HotChillee event in 2021.

If it’s been on your bucket list to climb some Cols, or you’re missing the call of the mountains, now is your chance to join us! E-Bike riders will need to take part in the Prologue to be seeded in to a group, the same as all other riders.

We have 5 E-Bike entries available with the option of test-riding a Specialized Turbo Creo SL as part of your package! We’ll take care of getting the bike there and back so all you need to remember are your pedals, your shoes and your helmet! If you'd prefer to ride your own E-Bike, HotChillee can transport it to and from the event for you, but you will need to book via your registration form.
