With bicycles, people can travel faster and further, and carry more. Bicycles are tools that help people to access schools, clinics and jobs, thus helping whole communities to move forward. People earn Qhubeka Bicycles through learn-to-earn programmes for schoolchildren, and work-to-earn programmes for adults.
The Buffalo Foundation will be partnering with Qhubeka and HotChillee, to provide Qhubeka Bicycles to communities in South Africa over the next three years. Together, we envision a South Africa where distance is no longer a barrier to education, healthcare and economic opportunity.
The charitable partnership will help to fund specially made bikes to be distributed through Qhubeka’s charitable programmes across South Africa, aimed at shifting entire communities forward by creating a new cycling culture and transforming communities through the power of personal transport.
Going forward, participants in all HotChillee events will have the opportunity for various fundraising options towards the cost of Qhubeka Bicycles and to support The Buffalo Foundation’s fundraising initiatives.
