We’re teaming up with Sigma Sport for a bumper edition gravel ride, taking the path less traveled from London to Brighton. The route features a mix of road, gravel and off-road sections all the way to the sea.
Date: Sunday 22nd October 2017
Time: Meet at 7.00am for a 7.30am roll out
Start from: Sigma Sport Store, Hampton Wick
Route: 100km off road
Return: There will not be transport provided back to the start
The route will be approximately 100km, and remember progress will be a tad slowly on gravel tracks, so bring some food to fuel yourself. Riders will be able to buy fish and chips at the finish.
We will ride in three groups – experienced, intermediate and social – each supported by ride leaders from HotChillee and Sigma Sport.

What bike can I ride?
A gravel bike (or adventure bike as it’s also known), compared to a standard road bike, generally has a longer wheelbase, with a taller head tube and slacker head tube angle. They are strong, comfortable and handle well on a variety of surfaces. Gravel bikes have clearance for a variety of tyre types and widths, allowing you to tailor your bike to ride on the road, off-road or both. We’re big fans of the Cervelo C5 which we test rode out in the Atlas Mountains earlier this year.
For this ride, you would ideally be using an adventure/gravel type bike or a cyclocross bike. If you do not have one Sigma Sport have a very limited range of demo bikes available to hire.
If you have a road bike with good tyre clearance and could fit a 30mm tyre then this would also be suitable. You could also use a mountain bike with less aggressive knobbly tyres.
Numbers are limited, so make sure to register now to avoid missing out.
